Reporters learned that driven by 13 billion yuan of agricultural machinery subsidies, the agricultural machinery market has heated up rapidly, and farmers' enthusiasm for buying tractors has reached an unprecedented high.

Data released by the National Bureau of Statistics showed that a total of 9,958 large tractors were produced from January to February this year, an increase of 13.5% year-on-year, 31,056 medium-sized tractors, an increase of 28.4% year-on-year. "At present, the tractor market has seen a wave of blowout sales, and various companies are working overtime to organize production to meet market needs." On March 26, Xu Guoming, deputy general manager of Changzhou Dongfeng Agricultural Machinery Group Co., Ltd., told reporters.

Xu Guoming believes that this wave of tractor sales shows that the market started early and rapidly, and the market started widely, a variety of agricultural machinery products began to sell well at the same time, and some areas even had queues to buy. "In addition to large and medium-sized tractors, sales of hand tractors, harvesters, rice transplanters, rotary tillers and other products are also very hot."

Supported by the hot market, agricultural machinery exhibitions have also ushered in the spring of development. The reporter learned from the 2009 National (Spring) Agricultural Machinery Products Order Fair (referred to as "National Spring Agricultural Opportunity") held in Weifang, Shandong recently that there are nearly 500 exhibitors in this exhibition, with an exhibition area of 35,000 square meters, and the number of exhibitors and exhibition area are both higher than previous sessions.

"This year, the central government has expanded the scale of subsidies and increased the subsidy ratio, which is expected to drive farmers' investment to more than 50 billion yuan." On March 25, Liu Xian, deputy director of the Agricultural Mechanization Management Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, told reporters that the implementation of the agricultural machinery purchase subsidy policy has won the hearts of the people. It has not only effectively improved the level of agricultural mechanization and improved the structure of agricultural equipment, but also directly stimulated rural demand and promoted the revitalization of the agricultural machinery industry. It is a good policy that benefits farmers and workers.

Data show that from 2004 to 2008, the central government allocated a total of 6.97 billion yuan in subsidies for the purchase of agricultural machinery in five years, which led to farmers' investment of 37.3 billion yuan and drove the sales output value of the agricultural machinery industry to 44.3 billion yuan. The central investment-driven ratio reached 1:5.35, which is equivalent to 1 yuan invested by the central government, which can directly drive the output value of the agricultural machinery industry by 6.35 yuan.

It is worth noting that under the promotion of the purchase subsidy policy, the total amount of agricultural equipment has grown rapidly, but the contradiction of lagging agricultural mechanization technology development has become more prominent, and the "short board effect" has become more obvious. Science and technology are productivity. Improving the quality of agricultural mechanization development through scientific and technological progress has become an important topic at present.

To comprehensively improve the level of agricultural mechanization technology, we should adhere to the principle of "strengthening the foundation, expanding the field, and improving the level". Liu Xian believes that "strengthening the foundation" is to strengthen basic theoretical research and applied basic research, consolidate the construction of talent teams, and enhance independent innovation capabilities, "expanding the field" is to broaden the scope of agricultural mechanization technology work to meet the needs of modern agricultural development, "improving the level" is to improve the quality and benefits of agricultural mechanization technology development and continuously optimize the agricultural equipment structure.

Liu Xian revealed that relevant state ministries and commissions are speeding up the research and drafting of "Opinions on Promoting the Development of Agricultural Mechanization and Agricultural Machinery Industry", formulating "Protective Farming Project" and "Agricultural Mechanization Promotion Project Plan". The legislative work of the "Agricultural Machinery Safety Supervision and Management Regulations" has entered the revision and demonstration stage, and the pilot work of agricultural machinery operation subsidies, agricultural machinery credit support, and agricultural machinery renewal compensation will also be launched one after another.
