The National Technical Committee for Standardization's Plastic Pipes, Fittings and Valves Sub-Technical Committee recently stated that seven new national standards for plastic pipes and fittings have been officially implemented.

According to reports, the main technical contents of the revised national standard for PVC-U pipes for water supply include adding requirements for resin K value, prohibiting the use of lead salt stabilizers, increasing the impact energy of the drop hammer impact test, partially adopting technical indicators of relevant foreign standards, adjusting the hoop stress of the hydraulic test, adding system applicability tests and size grouping and finalization inspections, etc.; the national standard for PVC-U pipes and fittings for building drainage has expanded its specifications from 40 mm to 160 mm to 32 mm to 250 mm, which is different from the size of municipal drainage pipes. The pipe connection adds a sealing ring connection method, cancels the classification of superior and qualified products, and increases the size requirements for the sockets of pipes and fittings.
